La monographie de Valeria Croce, lauréate du Prix de Thèse en Cotutelle UFI/UIF 2024 pour le domaine des sciences et technologies, vient d'être publiée.
Valeria Croce a complété son parcours de doctorat en cotutelle entre l'Université de Florence et l'École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, en bénéficiant de l'aide à la mobilité pour thèses en cotutelle de l'appel à projets Vinci chapitre 2. En 2024, sa thèse a été séléctionnée dans le cadre du Prix de Thèse en Cotutelle UFI/UIF pour le domaine des sciences et technologies (STEM).
La publication de sa monographie entitulée H-BIM, Semantics and Artificial Intelligence Semantic annotations for heritage documentation, résultée de sa thèse de doctorat, a été entièrement financiée par le Prix décerné par l'UFI. L'ouvrage a été publié par Aracne Editore dans la collection éditoriale Digital landscapes / Paesaggi digitali. Digital processes for the representation of city, architecture, product avec la préface de Livio De Luca et la postface de Marco Giorgio Bevilacqua.
Abstract:
Can we leverage new technologies as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance preservation of historical buildings and monuments, supporting restoration and conservation efforts in sites like Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris and the Pisa Charterhouse? In response to this question, the book presents novel methodologies harnessing AI, semantic annotations and informative models for automatic classification of 3D survey data of historical buildings, integration and dissemination of information and semantic enrichment of digital representations. The presented tools enhance interpretation and accessibility of digital cultural heritage data, providing invaluable resources for restorers, engineers, architects, archaeologists, historians, and scholars in heritage sites conservation and preservation.
